About three months ago, August 28, 2009 to be exact, the Senate Committee on National Defense and Security and the Committee on Peace, Unification and Reconciliation conducted a joint public hearing on the peace process in Zamboanga City. One of those invited to be a resource person was the Vice-Governor of North Cotabato Manny Piñol. Vice Governor Piñol is one of the most...

[This is the official statement of the University of the Philippines - Manila Political Science Committee, headed by Sir Carl Marc Ramota, on the Maguindanao Massacre. As you know, I’m a Political Science major so I felt like sharing.]
The UP Manila Political Science Committee condemns in the strongest possible terms the latest case of election violence in Maguindanao.

Was it the Ampatuans who did it or was it a government-plotted scheme to not lift Martial Law anytime soon?
2009 was the deadliest year for journalists since... →

In Sub-Saharan Africa, 12 journalists have been murdered for their work this year, just one less than the 1999 toll which largely resulted from Sierra Leone’s civil war.
The high tally was largely due to the massacre of over 30 media workers in the Philippine province of Maguindanao.
Worldwide, at least 68 journalists were killed in 2009, the highest annual figure documented by CPJ.
bakit hindi si Gibo?
jadzimbag:
Like Gloria, isipin mo kung saan cya lupalop nag-araland I have to admit na...

I was crazy when I said I didn’t love you. From the first time that I ever saw you, the emotions running deep underneath my skin. Sign anywhere for your love, where do we begin? So lay me down, tell me what I wanna hear. Take me down, there’s nobody else I’d rather be with. I wanna wake up in your arms.
I never thought I would fall in love with you.
imtherealprincess:
And when I first met you, I never would have imagined I would have such strong feelings for you. I never would have thought that I would have dreams about you, or miss being by your side, or get butterflies in my stomach when someone mentions your name. When I first met you, I never would have thought that I would fall in love with you.
pineappleupsidedown:
All my life, I thought of love as some kind of voluntary enslavement. Well, that’s a lie: freedom only exists when love is present. The person who gives him or herself wholly, the person who feels freest, is the person who loves most wholeheartedly. And the person who love wholeheartedly feels free. * In love, no one can harm anyone else; we are each of us responsible for...

Why is loving you not like loving anyone else? You say more to me with a glance than most say in their tirades and rants. There is something about you that makes me want to be a better person even if you do not love me back, even if I’m not the last thought on your mind. I love you. I always will.
Stupid selfish boyfriend
caughtinthmiddle:
Today really made me feel like there is no point to carry on with you because you are ever so self-centered, so selfish, so clueless and so.. I don’t even know how to start to describe you.
So what happened was, I went out with the boyfriend today to buy my brother a wallet for his Christmas present. When I finally took my pick, he decided that he liked this better than the...
